Taking cues from Tarantino, Rihanna, and Prince, Toronto-based band Random Order's spine-tingling sub-pop attracts a diverse cultural audience, with equal parts irony, confidence, and catharsis.
Their newest offering, Black Lipstick Kiss [Lov3mix], presents a new direction for a turbulent world ready for love, while their previous album came from cinema binging. Most of its material was written while Lynx was caught in a hurricane on Halloween and was the result of watching 24-hour horror marathons in a hotel room for 5 days straight.
The band has charted in Canadian Top 30 radio, landing the number 2 spot twice in their home-town Toronto. The music has been played on radio in Ireland, Germany, Holland, China, South Africa, Taiwan, Japan, The UK and The US.
It's a fun, high-energy, devlish party that will leave you breathless.

Press Release - Excess Or Rise Video Launch
Random Order releases a second video from their latest CD "Black Lipstick Kiss." After Hollywood film producer/writer Jon Racinskas gave the song "Excess or Rise" a listen, vocalist and bandleader Lynn Phillips realized immediately that it was a match made in heaven. Somewhere in the dark corners of Racinska's mind, he decided it would be fun to ramp up the bizarre factor by beginning the video for the track with a parody of a more serious, sombre film. Clearly Racinska understood Random Order! The "Excess Or Rise" video opens with a satirical version of the torture scene from the film "Zero Dark Thirty." What follows are vignettes that depict the usual Random Order style with tongue planted firmly in cheek, and portraying defiance, marching bands, dancing fans and Can Can girls.
